I am back!

Yes, this is my busy time of year. Teaching, filling orders, keeping up my consignments, and so on. Getting ready for the holidays, everything everyone else is doing, I am sure. I am having a shoulder surgery on Dec. 13th so I am not sure how much that will sideline me. But it has to be done. The pain has finally done me in, so I am actually looking forward to it in hopes I can sleep again. It throbs constantly at night and keeps me awake.
This weekend I will have 16 here for a class. I am busy setting up for that. Thank God a friend is helping me. She has been coming every day. I am so looking forward to it. I have a lot to do so I better go for now... more later. I will try not to be gone so long this time. I really do NEED to be here more. It's a sanity thing. Ya know? Til next time!

Treasure Boxes

Oh, I love boxes! Any kind, any shape. I cannot throw one away. I can't resist buying them either. Neither can others it seems. A show I did this weekend proved that! People love them and they always are the thing that nearly always sell out. That and cards. People always seem to need/want cards too.

No help at JoAnn's

So I bought this book at JoAnn's and wanted to make a scarf like one I saw in it. I found a lady that worked at Joann's and made the mistake of showing her what I wanted to make and then telling her I wasn't much of a sewer. She said she thought I couldn't do it, then wouldn't show me where anything was. When I read from the materials list and said, What is Poplin and where is it? She'd say cotton and on the cotton isle. Everything I asked for, it went something like that! Finally, I got frustrated, and walked away! lol. Well, I got what supplies i thought I could work with and here's the finished project. I feel like going back to JoAnn's and showing that chick! Geesh!

Charm Sets

Here are my latest Charm Sets. I love making them! I am getting ready for a show on the 16th and the 17th, my last of the season. I did one less this year, but my teaching has increased insanely. Hope you like these charms, they are also up on my ETSY.

Fun with Timtex

TIMTEX..... I am hooked on it now. What fun the stuff is. I decided to try to use it on making necklaces and it sure was awesome! What else can I do with it? Time will tell. The wheels are turning, my sewing machines out and ready. I will show you what else I come up with later. Can you tell I am not a sewer~ at all?

Christmas Already?

Yes, it's true. I did start my Christmas art. Stores are bugging me for it! I do have my last years stock but these are some of my new designs. More to come, but with Open Studios this weekend again, I am stressing. Next week, I will pour it on again. My studio will be buzzing again, day and night. My Dr. isn't going to like it. He told me to cut back. Way back. I will, after the first of the year!

Open Studio's is over for one week. Met some interesting people. made a few sales. Overall, I had a good time. I shared my studio with another artist, Helen Jurgenson. She is a good friend and a wonderful, gifted artist. It was a pleasure to have her here all weekend. Our kids grew up together so we had much to talk about. Many memories, that's for sure! Next weekend we will do it all over again. In the meantime, I am creating more art. Still loving my new bird images. Here's a sample of what I am doing with them. Hope you like it!

More On Sea Glass

These beautiful bottles are filled with wonderful sea glass. They are covered in bridal veiling (gold) and the bottles are trimmed in ribbon and a flower, embellished by a rhinestone.
The tag attached features a vintage bathing beauty and reads:

Well, the rain has stopped it looks like. Supposed to be 80 degrees today. PERFECT Northern Californian weather for me! I love the fall! That ugly 100+ degree heat is gone, Thank God.
I am ready for another day. I am up early and ready for some coffee. As you can see I come straight to the computer first without even stopping for coffee. I guess that shows which I am more addicted to, now doesn't it?
What is doesn't show is my real addiction. That is ETSY. I love ETSY!!!! There are so many cool artists there I can't stant it. I just can't stay away! I swear I am there (yes, buying, too) every free moment I have! OMG, I am so hooked. In fact, I better go now, I might be missing something. More later friends.

Ohhhhhh, Domino....

More of my getting ready for OPEN STUDIOS. Time is getting shorter, I realize it everyday. This year I am doing it with a friend Helen Jurgenson. We have done other shows together, but never OS. We are doing it at my house this year, a total of 4 days. So much to do, so little time. I also have about 4 classes scheduled before that too. I hope my energy holds out! HA!
My head is swimming with ideas of things I want to do before then. I did get 2 framed pieces done today and 1 unframed piece. The pendants you see here were done today too, as I've been up since 5:30 AM. The kids just left, they were here for dinner, so I dont think I will get anymore done tonight, but I will start in again early tomorrow. See you then.

Bird Brain

Everyone seems to love birds now, including myself. I just can't get enough of them. My ETSY site is full of them. I am constantly collecting them. I am lucky enough to live in a bird haven. I can sit in my living room window and see tons of different kinds. My cats go nuts, and speak a funny language to them, through my huge windows. It's a cackling/talking kind of thing, very funny! Like teeth chattering almost. Enjoy these images.

Mixed Media, My Real Salvation

Paper beads and formica samples, still a fav of mine that I go back to from time to time. Since I have been on this jewelry kick lately and have been teaching in bead stores, beads have begun fascinating me. Oh, no!! Just what I need, another addiction!!!
My little studio is already bursting at the seams now. How can I bear to part with any of my treasures to make room for more? You know I will get bored with this in time and will go back to something else as I can never stay with one thing long. I am truly the meaning of "Mixed-Media Artist." The "Mixed" is my brain part. The "Media" just means I can't decide which art supply to use. Ya know? HA!!
