Beautiful Embellished Glittery Paper

I spent the day dying and embellishing paper. I love the way it came out. It is so beautiful in person! It's for sale on my Etsy site for those interested. I only embellish it during the summer months so it doesn't last long.
Enjoy it!

Near The Sea We ForgetTo Count The Days..

I love the vintage bathing beauties. Probably because I always thought I'd live near the sea. It's strange I ended up in the mountains. Even though I've lived here 30 years now, it still feels weird being so far from the sea. I miss it so much. I guess that's why I like using the BB images so much. Next month I am spending a few days at a B&B on the coast and I can hardly wait. Some good R and R is desperately needed! I am staying near a place called "Glass Beach" that used to be an old dump so I hope I come home with lots of treasures or "junque" as I like to call it to create with! I can already see my H's eyes rolling back in his head as I fill the buckets with treasures....He gets it...

P.S. Thanks to all that wrote me about my sister. Her test results came out fine. She goes back in 6 months for another!

Oh, and one more thing today...

Please say a little prayer or have good thoughts for my sister tomorrow, as she got a recall on her mammogram. She is a breast cancer survivor and has been through so much already. Thank you.

It's The Heart, That Makes The Home...

So many times when I read quotes like this, they make me stop and think how true this really is. Like coming home after a vacation, how good it feels sleeping in you own bed again, for me, being back in my studio.
I miss my home when I am away. Being an empty nester now is an odd feeling, but I am quickly adapting. (smile) My daughter lives near by so I see her a lot and we probably talk on the phone or by IM 5-6X a day so we are still very close. She and her fiance come for dinner about 3-4X a week. Soon she is going to school to become a Police Officer.
My son lives in L.A. and is in the music business. I only get to see him 2-3 X a year. Him and his GF both have AOL at work so it's like they are right here if I want to talk to them. I see them arrive at work at 9am and they are here til 6pm. They work accross the street from each other, him at Warner Brothers Records, her at Hollywood Records (Disney) I am happy they both have AOL at work. It keeps us close anyway.
I don't know how I got off track of art today, but I did. I am putting a few houses on Etsy today. Some are paper and some are fabric and some are both. The paper ones have hand dyed backgrounds that are gorgeous! I am also going to put some hand dyed tags on today. Blank ones for those of you into tag art, OMG these are awesome!
Anyway, Have a good day!

Art is the only way to run away, without leaving home...

I am back! Busy, busy, busy, stopping to smell the roses now so I thought I'd catch you up. I have been taking care of my consignments that I have sorely been neglecting. So much so, I thought they'd kick me out! But they didn't thank God (smile) I took over 200 items to one place and I am not done. I have created greeting card packs, collage packs, pins, cards, altered books, paper bag books, coin wrapper books, tag books, create a tag kits, create a tag book kits, and much more.
The fairy pin you see here is new too.
Well, tomorrow I start PT 3X weekly. I am not exactly thrilled. I have better ways I'd like to use my time. HA!
You all know that would be in the studio. My refuge! My place I can escape to. I have to have 18 PT visits. 18!!! That seems like forever. Oh man, believe me, if there was someway I could do art at the same time as the PT I'd be looking forward to these visits. As of now, I am dreading them. Except the massage part. That's my saving grace about the whole thing!
I keep telling myself that anyway....

Each One Has His Own Real Thing...Mine Is ART....

I haven't posted a doll in a while so I decided to put one on tonight. I am back teaching both at home at my studio and at a scrapbook store again. I know nothing about scrap booking but I teach them collage, tag art, shrines, ATC's, altered books and so on. The people that own the store are really nice and I think it will be fun working for them. This is my 4th time working at a SB store. You would think I'd be a big time scrap booker by now but the bug hasn't maybe when I become a grandma or something I will magically turn into one.
Anyway, speaking of classes I have one tomorrow so I am going to bed early tonight. 11:30 is early for me, I am tired out from my longer Dr visit today. All I can say about that is...not good news..more about that later.

Be Happy With This Moment, This Moment Is Your Life...

Funerals are just plain hard. Especially this one. A good man died way too young. He was superman. Someone today said it would take 10 people to make one of him, to do all he did for our community. I believe that. Needless, to say I didn't get alot of art done today. I am teaching tomorrow, so I know I'll be back to normal then.
Goodbye Walt. We will never forget you.

A Small Gift Will Do, If Your Heart Is Big Enough...

If you are looking for kits you will find them at All kinds of art supplies with more to come!
Well, no surgery for now. Thank God! I am going to PT 3x a week for 4 weeks. After that we will decide if I am going to need the surgery or not. I like that. The conservative approach. I am so relieved!
I have graduated now to my choice...crutches or a walker! I think it's going to depend on where I am going. Guess I will have to just wait and see. I've been doing alot of that lately.
Anyway, just catching up, I am going to bed early tonight cuz I know tomorrow will be hard going to the funeral and all. I always fall apart at them. Night everyone.

I Could Not Ask For More...

Here I am again, time sure does fly by. I was rattled by a friends passing away, but I am better now, the shock has worn off. I have been in overdrive creatively, in the studio almost all my waking hours. Thinking about how fragile life is, how really we need to enjoy it and cherish it. I think my art has been affected by all this. At least I think it shows.
Tomorrow is my big day with the surgeon. I find out if I need more surgery on my right knee. I also am taking him ex rays of my left knee. I feel the same pain in both knees so we will see what I need done now. And then there's the left shoulder. It still is impinged and has the cyst in it. He gave me a choice, which to do first. I said my knee's. I've been through the shoulder thing before, but having to ask for so much help from people is hard for me. So knee's it is.
Meanwhile, I create and create and then I do it over again....everyday. I am blessed to be able to. That I know.
