We Are Stardust, We Are Golden..
I wanted to show you where my stardust (glitter) now lives in my studio. It got a new home after the Paris Fea Market last week. i think it was meant to be cuz it all fit just perfect in there. I love glitz and use it on alot of stuff. I love it so much, somehow my husband keeps going to work wearing it. He doesn't like it when people say...."Sir do you know you have glitter on your face?"

Oh, The Wild Joys Of Living...
I just am not ready to give up my love affaire with tags. No matter what I do I can't seem to stay away from these addictive little drug like Monkey -on-my-backs. I can't stop buying them in bulk. I can't stop cutting them out, in every shape imaginable, I even dream about these stupid things. I'd say I've got it pretty bad for them!.
Some of you out there undertand this I know. But for others, that think I am loopy just deal with it for today ok? lol
Know I will be on some other rant tomorrow. Some other rant, but I will still be doing tags. Hey, I just got a fresh box of 500! And I've got plans for every single one. Believe me!

May You Live Every Day Of Your Life...
I am back. I took a little siesta kinda.
lol. Actually, I have been working hard on my consignments and getting my second Etsy site going. If you haven't been there yet, stop on by.
NostalgicHeirlooms.etsy.com
I did make these Nostalgic Heirlooms, shown here yesterday. They are perfect to hold a gift card, jewelry, small gifts, money, or anything else you can dream up. I haven't decided if I will put any on Etsy or not as i am not sure how they will ship. maybe I will keep they here for consignment.
I went out for Thai food today with an old friend. It was sure good! Dr. Lee if you are reading this, I know I said I'd stay out of restaurants but this was a special occassion. ok? And "yes" I had the brown rice. So I did do a "good thing" He watches me like a hawk. (sigh) Small town living.
Anyway, back to the studio...

AHHHH!!!...A Paris Flea Market, In The good ole USA
I arrived early and when I say early, I mean first one there, to the annual Paris Flea Market yesterday. What is it you may ask? It is a collage artists dream come true of a sale! It is put on by a greeting card designer who is a crazy paper freak kind of like me. She sells bags and bags of exotic papers that she doesn't want or use any more. OMG beautiful stuff!!!! Then she sell bags of ribbon pieces the same way and trims, and flowers. It's just a wonderland.
She sells charms by the bag too. I wish I would have taken a pic of all I got before I put it away just so you could see it all.
She told me she's going to be doing this twice a year now. Hooray!!!! I swear I barely slept all week just thinking about what might be there. Oh, yeah later I will take a pic of my new glitter holder I got there. Well, it's not really a glitter holder but it is now. Very cool in the studio I must say!
Well, I hope you like these 3 little collages up today. The paper I used is from the PFM and notice those little ball trims. They are vintage floral pieces I got yesterday. I wish she had more, I bought all she had but it wasn't manyI love them though. Anyway, back to creating. Til next time!

We Start Them Young In Our Family....
My sister called today and Jacy (her little sweetheart) was coming over for some "ART time."She asked if I could part with any of my treasures and I said of course, cuz she's my little sweetheart too! I make my sister share cuz I don't have any grandchildren yet and it's not looking like I'm going to get any, any time soon! So, my little treasure bag is going to Jacy tomorrow and I hope she has fun with it. My sister said she has black meat trays she's been saving. Those will be her little canvas, smeared with white glue and I am guessing the finished results will all be 3 year old masterpieces!

Swing, It's Your Day.....
Dance! Ahhh! The beauty of it. I love every aspect of it. Everything to do with it. Do I watch "Dancing With The Stars?" Of course!
I met my husband in a dance class. We love dancing. Not that we've been doing any lately! I told my daughter, who's engaged I hope I can dance at your wedding. Good thing she hasn't set a date yet! Plenty of time for me to heal from this surgery and extra time to heal from the next in case I need another(waiting for 6/6) to find out.
Until those days when I can dance again, I will have to settle on dance art. To see more go here if you'd like!

Sweet Things Take Time...
I have been creating like crazy since opening my second ETSY store. These scrapbooks are just a few of the things I've been doing. I've been doing a lot of cards and tags too. I do a few collages every now and then too when I have a spare minute, which is rare it seems. My consignment places are really suffering. I need to get it together and take some art to them too. I feel bad I've been neglecting them. There's just plain not enough hours in the day for someone like me! I'm already working 18 hr ones!

Cultivate Your Dreams....
I have been working like crazy on all the projects I need to have done like yesterday. I am like a mad woman almost it seems. Normally, I am not so busy this time of year, I don't know what's going on but I feel like I barely have time to breathe these days.I started a new Etsy store so now I have 2 going, so that's part of it. The new store caters to businesses, so sorta sells in bulk more. It's slowly growing at my control, I am opening it in sections, in order to not burn myself out. I am not going to take orders, just sell the art as I do it, and basically just take on a few chosen merchants. We shall see how that goes!

I made these new "Dangles" yesterday with a new tool I found at Michael's. It was a leaf punch in the new Martha Stewart collection. I don't have a lot of punch's, having taught in 3 different scrapbook stores you'd think I would. I have found them hard on my hands to use. You kind of needed this super human strength to use them. They were always awkward and heavy. Well, Martha's new ones are fabulous! I wish I would have bought more! In fact, all her new stuff was awesome. What was left of it, that is. I guess going after National Scrapbook Day wasn't such a good idea. Lots of empty racks. But what I did find was a dream for collage artists! I have never been a big Martha fan, but suddenly I think I'm her new groupie. Oh, and I also got the little banners there too, and some really cool patterned paper. I can't wait for Michael's to restock!

Dreams Teach Me, All I Need To Know...
Yes, she is a dreamer, but then so am I. Always have been. That would be daydreamer in my case as I sleep very little at night. I hear people say they love sleep so much and I wonder why? It's such a bother to me and I never want to do it. I wish I didn't have to really. There's just so much in life I want to do.
The days seem like they come and go so fast now. Where does time go? The weekends are here again every week before I know it, it's Saturday again. On one hand it's good cuz soon I will be out of this wheelchair and ready for my next surgery (is that really a good thing?) Sounds weird but...
Well, anyway I hope you enjoy my new piece and I am off to do more and pass TIME. Precious time. Value it. Use it wisely. Think about that you can't regain it. Ever.

Time Stands Still..
Cinco de Mayo. A day so celebrated in my childhood. No I am not Mexican but I might as well have been. I grew up in a tight Mexican neighborhood and spent half my life there. Their culture runs true in me. I love the food, the life, everything about their world. I swear I am more Mexican than the Italian I was born into. Every May 5th, we always celebrate and cook everything Mexican but this year will be different as I am unable to do my big thing. In fact my daughter just called to see what we were having..lol..When I said "Tamale Pie" She said.."WHAT?"
I said.."Dad's cooking"..I could hear the disappointment in her voice. So this May 5th will be like no other! Things change. Mom's get sick, or injured, or get tired, or go out to dinner. Things just plain ole change. So watch your mother cook on May 5th or any other day for that matter. You never know when a special day might come and she may need you to do the cooking! And now back to the studio to the real important stuff of the day!

Near The Sea, We Forget To Count The Days....
I am such a paper freak.I really believe it's an illness. One I really need help for. I mean here i am thinking about tomorrow being National Scrapbook Day and I don't even scrapbook. But I knew my local scrap booking store would be filled to the brim with new paper for tomorrow. I just had to go!!!! I knew in my condition I couldn't maneuver a wheelchair around there tomorrow so I went today. Oh, man did I go overboard! As USUAL!!!! I did get some gorgeous papers though. I love them so much I don't want to use them! Isn't it funny how that happens? Even worse I do use them and like them so much I go back for more and the store doesn't carry them any more. That really sucks big time! I really do have a huge love affaire with paper though. I love to go to FLAX in S.F. or even shop with them online. The store is incredible though, if you ever make it to the Bay area. GO!

Play In The Flowers Sometimes....
The last few days have been a bit hard. I went to see my Dr. and he said my surgery didn't go as well as he had hoped. The area of bone he had to remove, was much larger than he had anticipated. When he started drilling much of the bone fell away. He isn't sure now that I won't need total knee replacement. All I can do is sit and wait 6 weeks, to see if new bone will form in the area he drilled out. To think maybe this surgery may have been for nothing, is a bit disheartening to say the least, but maybe this was just God's way of saying I needed to slow down and get some rest. I have to see some good in this, and it has to be that. I am a total maniac when it comes to my art, and stuff like that so maybe I just needed a little down time! We shall see!
In the meantime, I still am working away. Mostly on small things like cards, tags and tagbooks. I am most of the time in a wheelchair or with a cane or crutches. The Dr. still says no weight bearing til June 6th..YIKES..that date seems like forever away!
